Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go without the need to switch devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual gets you running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that it tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then automatically change its direction and clean them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track battery life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is intuitive and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have several features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a good method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There's an impressive amount of options available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has several features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and elegant. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels robust and well built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
